While
most of French wines are named after their place of origin, Alsace
Wines are named for the grape variety from which they are made
(Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner) fruity, full-flavour
wines recommended with Seafood and Seasoned dishes.

The
superb quality wines of Bordeaux are a blend of three (3) grapes,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. The wines which need
20 years to mature are mostly Sauvignon and therefore do not appear
here. We have, however, chosen wines which are largely Merlot,
therefore maturing faster and ready to drink. Chateau bottlings
are consistently the best.

White-French-Bordeaux |
The
White Wines of the Bordeaux District can be: Graves (good dry
white wine), Entre Deux-Mers (light, crisp, refreshing wine and
only slightly sweet), Sauternes. Real Sauternes is one of a wines
drinker's greatest pleasures. These wines have a sugar code of
nine (9) but all the sweetness in the grape sugar, there is no
sugar added. Recommended with Fish and Poultry, Pate and Cold Salmon |

The
great wines of Burgundy are made from Pinot Noir Vines, Beaujolais,
Gamay grapes. Their chief characteristic is not so much heaviness
as richness and they are no less delicate then their equally famous
brothers at Bordeaux. It has indeed been well said that if Bordeaux
is the Queen of the wines then Burgundy is the King.
